Its been an exciting first week of the season. The Sixers are showing some signs of dominance mixed in with young mistakes. The Lakers started 0-3, the Rockets are planning to hemorrhage their future for Jimmy Butts, and the Pistons are looking fantastic after starting 4-0. We have already witnessed two 50 points performance, multiple triple doubles, and a fist fight. I will officially say the NBA is now in full swing. Now on to some stats, through the first week of the NBA season, Blake Griffin is leading the league in points with 36.3 per. Andre Drummond has been a monster on the glass averaging 17 rebounds per contest. Giannis is nipping at the Detroit big mans heels with a strong 16.5 boards. We have a tie for the weekly assist leader, Kyle Lowry and Lebron both sit at 10.5 dimes a night. Jimmy Butler should be in jail for petty theft, averaging an astounding 3.7 steals per game.
Player of the Week – Anthony Davis
I guess I’m a sucker for blocks. I have been drooling over The Brows 3.5 swats a night. Davis has averaged strong numbers across the board. The Pelicans stars has been doing more than just disrupting shots, his nightly numbers come out to 29.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1.5 steals. Davis has lead New Orleans to a solid 3-0 start. With Davis’ leadership the Pelicans are the leagues best in points per game, 5th in rebounds per game, and 1st in assists per game. If the Brow keeps playing like this, it could be his year to take home the MVP.
